This brand new gallery space, opened in May 2025, will showcase and celebrate photography, film-making and print inspired artwork that arises from working class life in HU3 and Hull. Here we will take a closer look, together, at the people and lives, past and present, that are often hidden or paid scant attention. We will explore too, the national and international links that reflect our beautifully diverse HU3 community, and shape who we are.
The gallery is a beginning, a work progress. It will grow and adapt and we hope you join us as it does. Programmed with, by and for HU3 residents, creatives, groups, business and schools, it will welcome visitors from everywhere. Alongside exhibitions, there will be workshops, talks and activities and we have ambitions to generate a range of training and skills development opportunities to benefit the HU3 community.
We have developed the gallery with Western Library, who are, like us, keen to celebrate the area, utlise their assets and generate relevant cultural experiences for residents and wider communities. EofUs works in collaboration with many HU3 people, businesses and organisations, responding to their ideas and in support of our ethos ‘to create congenial spaces for everyone in which good things happen‘. Through this work we aim to spot the unique and incredible things happening here that often go unnoticed, including the prevalence of photography in and about the area that is, ironically, also not visible enough.
